I haven't been able to stomach npr or right wing talk radio for so long that I usually end up listening to sports radio or no radio (except for the few hours a day there's good music programs on).

But the other day I did tune in to npr and heard a long report about the rapture madness from a couple weeks ago. At the end of the report the announcer said (in that affected and annoying tone they use) to the reporter (so-called) that every time they do a story like this listeners ask "why are you paying attention to these people?" The reporter (again, so-called) said that this is news and if she didn't report it she wouldn't be doing her job.

Then the other day (I've been in the car more than usual lately) I happened across an npr report about Chile and Allende. It was several minutes long and contained nary a whisper or nod concerning U.S. involvement in what happened.

I think Doug is right. You can make a strong case that NPR is worse than Fox for us.
