Yeah, I used to work near that Whole Foods place for a couple of years. I have no idea why anyone would choose it as a target. First, it's quite a distance from the real downtown; it's about a block from Lake Merrit. It's relatively new, and it is true that it caters to a slightly upscale clientele. But we're not talking the 1% here.
I also read that most of the black clad sans culottes were from out of town. Which kinda makes sense. They come in from the suburbs and deface exactly the kind of market they shop at in the suburbs.
It's pointless and disgusting.
