Call me naive, but I don't see how choosing whether to break shit - whether it might help or harm your cause - is at all like falling in love (which isn't something one normally plans or reflects about in advance). It is sorta like crossing the street, but you usually cross the street because you have a destination, and a likely route to get you there.

In other words, you have no real justification. It just makes you feel righteous.
