A. In the tradition of non-violence, non-violence means non-violent CIVIL
DISOBEDIENCE; it does not mean peaceful legality; it is only meaningful if
it accompanies breaking of the law. But sloppy usage by leftists and
deliberate misudage by authorities have equated it with peaceful legal
action. Hence if a person lies down when arrested, that person is in  the
eyes of authority committing violence.

Anyone who says the police need an excuse from violent behavior is an
ignoramus.
