A. In the tradition of non-violence, non-violence means non-violent CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE; it does not mean peaceful legality; it is only meaningful if it accompanies breaking of the law. But sloppy usage by leftists and deliberate misudage by authorities have equated it with peaceful legal action. Hence if a person lies down when arrested, that person is in the eyes of authority committing violence.

Anyone who says the police need an excuse from violent behavior is an ignoramus.

^^^^^^ CB: Yes, and civil disobedience means breaking an unjust law, like white supremacist, Jim Crow laws or British imperialist and colonialist occupation laws in India. Not all laws are unjust and certainly not as unjust as Jim Crow, Apartheid or colonialist occupation laws.
