Lincoln Steffens describes Lenin speaking in the summer of 1917. There 
would be a huge crowd, only some of whom could hear. He had a short 
speech and would give it. Then the fifty closest would leave and fifty 
more would come closer, and so on. Unfortunately, most radicals today 
are too damn long-winded for that sort of thing to work.
