You must know that Chinese traditional has the dowry pass from the man's family to the woman's? (It's the reverse in Korea and Japan.) A shortage of men in China might really screw up family life.
But the top fifty men in the art world: aside from a few "star" dealers, aren't the men in art the artists themselves? As much as the little "slide-show" lauded them, aren't the women mostly in "maintenance" roles?
