This is a very good essay to read and learn from. It captures various
and unconnected thoughts I've had and forgotten The basic message
is to `organize' in your immediate and surrounding space. This happens
here almost instantaneously with a traffic accident that involves the fire
department, or a fire, or a stronger earthquake. People come out
and gather and start talking....
Berkeley for some reason has a lot of neighborhood based geography,
which is mainly ordered by income, or used to be.
There is a lot to think about.
