Chuck Grimes: I was just writing a post about OWS's problem of communication Those forewards did help.

What evidence do you have that OWS is an organization with "problems." All their huge impact on the world has come just by being. They need to communicate with each other within each separate Occupation. But they are not an organization, a Party, trying to recruit members. So why do you spread this foolishness about their having "problems." You are talking about something that exists only in your head.

They have created a world in which, if you went out and tried to do something yourself you might actually make a difference. But you choose merely to sit on the sidelines and carp at something you obviously don't understand.

Find five friends. Pick some goal in you locality. Organize a public campaign for that goal. (Not another OWS, but another organization with a purpose of its own.) If your new little group flourishes at all, grows a bit, look around for other little groups (or big groups) in your community that are at least vaguely "leftist." Try to get together with them in a loose coalition. Perhaps at some point to could establish a study group: such groups usually grow into action, but start with study. Get in touch with any local anti-war groups, or even with Churches that have a social affairs committee. Is their a local Latinos group? If there is, they need all sorts of help, far more than OWS needs, for sooth, "communication." What you mean by that is that you, in your isolation and knowledge hunger (knowledge for knowledge's sake) need them to communicate to you. They don't. But the Latino group needs help. They could probably even make use of your enormous expertise in so many different areas.

The East is Red. Come out of your ivory tower and join the movements to be. OWS isn't a movement. It is a tremendous wake-up call. But do send one of the Occupations some money if you can.
