another reason to build, here and now, the world you'd like to live in

as much as humanly possible. if you feel respected, appreciated, etc. in this world you've created with others, you'll take a rubber bullet to the forehead and keep coming back for more. You'll dance in the streets as cops attack you. you're willing to fight for another world you've come to believe is possible. As Polletta points out, it creates selves more, albeit imperfectly, capable of sustaining the long haul, when things are not so exciting, when everything's died down, when it's fizzled and you are back to your community garden and staffing the rape crisis center.

as Malcom said at Bluestocking, it might be the case that there's lots of tension and bitter acrimony, almost complete lack of ideological agreement, but there's a reason why, when push comes to shove, you know you are going to fight that enemy and keep coming back for more.

How else does anyone expect they are going to take state power?

Dean worries about the lack of discipline. Dean thinks that people don't like discipline because of liberalism.

Really now.

*That's* what discipline looks like.

Dean told everyone that no one on the "anarchist" side really understood that you have to draw lines, make choices, and take sides. They didn't get politics because they were so full of touchy feely I'm ok you're Ok stuff. They could never have the discipline to struggle toward the communist horizon under such deplorable conditions.

Gosh.

I have no more tits to fall off.
