On the contrary, we're totally in a position to determine that.
Julio, did you read the thing you forwarded? "Coup" and "revolt" are meant completely metaphorically. All it means is total opposition from Republicans to Obama's policies. Which is exactly what they got. And exactly what they should have expected. So it's not that their fears were absurd. It's their calculus was absurd that caving would avoid this outcome.
There's no revelation here. This one more example of absurdly pre-emptive caving. Which is exactly what it always looked like.
