 This article talks of Obama's hypocrisy on the issue. It could be added that the women got two years ---not seven as Ames said I believe. At the same time a Bahraini activist was sentenced to three years just for attending peaceful but unauthorized demonstrations. The next day a protester died from wounds received in a clash with security police but the event is barely mentioned in the west.
