I was sold into the idea by a coworker - we do quite a bit of teleworking and file sharing so it seemed like a good alternative to sending multiple email attachments. Except that buying a $10 USB drive and taking a train to Baltimore seems a faster way of exchanging files than using cloud computing. Yesterday I tried to synchronize about 1GB of data using Google drive - it took about the whole day to upload the files from my laptop and the files are still not synchronized with other machines. Today I had the same problem with Dropbox - I tried to synchronize a 30k document and after about 20 minutes of 'syncing' I turned the fucking thing off because it was using 70% of my CPU and similar amount of bandwidth and sent the file as an email attachment, which took about 10 seconds. BTW, I checked my internet connection - it does not set the world on fire but it works.
I heard other people complaining about it, in addition to the usual rant about privacy concerns, especially about Google. Do others on this list have similar experiences?
