She's Jane McAlevey. Her book is terrific:

Her arguments are that unions can grow by letting workers be the organizers, and they must address issues beyond the workplace.

^^^^^^^ CB: Not addressing issues beyond the workplace was criticized as "trade unionism pure and simple" and "economism" by the Bolsheviks in _What is do be done ?_. Workers can't leave politics to the intellectuals. Is she in the Bolshevik tendency ? UAW is now calling addressing issues beyond the workplace "social unionism" ,I think it is.

By the way , yesterday , a day that will live in infamy, the Michigan Republicans made Michigan a Work-for-less state. I think we are about to have a big class warfare battle here.
