This is interesting amplification of the remarks Angelus has made on the whole Mediterranean being on fire. Also, some time ago shag posted (or fwd) a fascinating report on some element in the "Occupy" movement in Egypt. If she can remember that a reposting might be useful.

The Egyptian Revolution is still getting stronger, visiting revolutionary tells London meeting

by Patrick Ward

Egyptian revolutionary socialist Gigi Ibrahim addressed more than 350 people at a meeting in central London last night (Thursday).

"Our revolution is just starting - and it's getting stronger," Gigi told the meeting, which was organised by the Socialist Workers Party.

Gigi explained that the revolution was deepening in the workplaces, and that the newly elected Muslim Brotherhood government had quickly become the focus for people's discontent.

"Tahrir and the factories are one hand. Solidarity goes back and forth.

"Whenever there is a clash in Tahrir with the police or the army, we've found a huge wave of industrial action."
