--Offer facts and figures about Rhee herself and her failure in DC (re-hired teachers, cheating, destruction of community schools). This would not defeat the larger framing issues. Joanna

Just went to wiki:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michelle_Rhee
It's not strident enough, but it reports various news sources with enough facts to show Rhee is a bungling administrator, liar, and cheated on the data she uses.
You might want to back check the sources, find more, and condense the article to about a page and half, that can be printed on a one page handout, at union meetings.
These are the very qualities in a person, that schools and teachers, teach students NOT to do in school. Don't cheat, don't lie, and take responsibility for your actions.
Why anyone in education would listen to her, is beyond me. I personally detest this woman so much, I can't listen to her. Her voice grates like a cat paw on a blackboard. She also comes off as a bigot of the Mayor Ouan school, and an authoritrian.
So I would consider her biography to represent everything wrong with Rhee. I've got to go to work. But I'd also look up somewhere in the UN rights of the child---it should have some statement that education is a human right...

ps. It was a good essay and I agree the whole approach has to be re-framed.
