The only thing true about the survivalist fantasies is that people living in cities do have a hard time to survive a total lack of power, or any shortage in the supply chain of food, as most people in big cities do not stockpile as much food and other essentials as people living in detached areas (basically because they don´t have the corner shop to do day-to-day purchases).
