[WS:] Au contraire, they need loose cannons or "mavericks" as the memorable Cain/Palin duo called them. They can conveniently mobilize the masses to vote for a "change" and then, after the electoral victory, pull an Obama and move to the back seat while the party grey eminences and their business allies are running the show from behind the curtain.
I am reasonably certain that if by some odd chance Paul gets elected, the big finance and war machine will keep running business as usual, maybe even more efficiently because under the fig leaf of a nominally anti-finance, anti-war and anti-empire POTUS.
