But no higher than those to which we revolutionary socialists have held every president since Lincoln. Lincoln promised to preserve the Union and promised to preserve Slavery, contradictory promises. But there was never the least doubt which promise he was going to break. Obama promised meaningful change and promised "financially responsible" bipartisan government, contradictory promises. But there was never the least doubt which promise he was going to break.

But he probably would have had Gene Debs not gotten a million votes. Would the CPUSA now condemn the spoiler Debs the way they condemn Nader?
