Did you miss the part where the socialists, in league, more or less, with the communists and the unions, implemented the austerity that is brutalizing Greeks? Why should the victims of austerity "naturally" support their primary oppressors?

I'm more and more annoyed when political questions get automatically first cashed out in terms of left or right.

The workers are betrayed by PASOK "in league, more or less, with the communists and the unions", so their reaction is to support the Center Right?

The history of the left is riddled with this pattern. Imagine if the bourgeoisie acted this way - if in frustration with political parties that betray their interests by nationalizing industries and increasing labor protections they threw their support for the far left.

Marvin says crises like the Greek depression engender mass confusion. Fine, but does that mean that periods of prosperity foster political clarity among the masses?
