Well Obama does have some agency. The fact that he was chosen because
of his willingness to do the bidding of power is obvious but that
doesn't excuse his crimes. The don may put the gun in your hand and
order you to kill someone, but ultimately it is you who does it.

I certainly recognize that it is a systemic issue. what is frustrating
is how revealing his ambitions and goals were early on yet how the
religious partisans still find it possible to claim that he wants to
do all these progressive things but is blocked by congress. Trying to
deconstruct people's fantasy Obama is what spawns the sentiment i
expressed above.
