I must confess, I purposefully watched only When Harry Met Sally and Love Actually. This is not because I am opposed to romantic comedies. Hell no. I caught You've got Mail on a flight and the other one with Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks. I may have mad a point to watch Four Weddings and A Funeral. Mostly I catch them when they catch me, as it were.
There's an old film, Bertrand Blier's Trob Belle Pour Toi that I really enjoyed (mainly because of Carole...), but also because it brings out some of the male siliness and misogyny that most of us are so guilty of from time to time. Highly recommended. Cinema Paradiso and Mediterraneo also have some lovely comedic romantic parts.
The problem with most romantic comedies is that they tend to be rather formulaic and predictable.

I like where you're going with this...a healthy dollop of Kate! I'll add Philadelphia Story and The Awful Truth (a little love for Irene Dunne too...)
