In general I agree. But not in the case of Tibet, which is as completely under the domination of a dictatorial foreign power as any colonial victim has ever been. And since the Chinese overtly base their "right" to rule over the Tibetans on an historical sovereignty claim of the Chinese EMPIRE, the term "imperialism" is completely and unarguably justified.
