Yes, though I favour limiting majoritarian power by eliminating majoritarian power. I suspect Madison would regard me a something of an extremist.
Also it might be argued that as a member of the ruling class, his motivation for wanting to limit majoritarian power over the minority was mainly that he wanted to preserve minority power over the majority. My motives are purer. ;-)
