Now, LBJ, the former segregationist Senator, was a true hero to civil
rights.  The Democratic Party was the "martyr" for civil rights, by
Nixon's Southern Strategy appealing to the anti-civil rights bloc,
continued by Reagan. LBJ said the Civil Rights Act would kill the DP
in the South.
