Matthews is such a jackass. Doesn't know much either. Kennedy didn't do shit for civil rights. He was such a lazy senator that he never learned how to win support for legislation. LBJ did know, and when he became president, did what Kennedy could never have hoped to do. Now if only more civil rights leaders had shown the courage of King to oppose the War in Viet Nam and gone to war against LBJ when it was clear that Johnson would rather have seen the civil rights movement die than suffer defeat by the communists.
