I think that Chris Burford had been a member of the old CPGB until it dissolved in the early 1990s. After that he was involved in some of successor organizations to the CPGB like the Democratic Left organization, which grew out of the Eurocommunist wing of the CPGB. At the same time, he was also a vociferous defender of the Sendero Luminoso in Peru.
