[WS:] Because this kind of analysis uses generalized abstractions like "democrat party" or "activists" instead of concrete empirical cases of specific groups working with specific politicians on specific issues and achieving (or not achieving) specific results, and then reifies these abstractions by stipulating that the alleged properties of these abstractions must apply to all empirical cases. It is pretty idealistic, no? And this comes from someone who have insisted, time and again, that there is no such thing as the left.
