The media are always ready to go, especially the cable nets. The military seemed split, as it usually is when considering a risky move. But the No vote in the UK is what really undermined Obama. That was actually embarrassing to his admin.
The fact remains that there is very little serious support for a strike. This doesn't mean that one won't come, but at this point it seems unlikely.
