Agreed about the silliness of 'nonviolence' but I'm not sure that putting it in the context of 'privilege' tells us much about what's wrong with it, or where it comes from.

I suppose if a person is silly enough, any means of shutting him up is as good as any other -- any stick to beat a dead horse. Still one would hope that a response to silliness might at least be less silly.
