Dog bites man. The latest Pew Survey of Global Attitudes reports that people in China and other rapidly developing countries are more satisfied with their lot and optimistic about the future than those in the war-torn Middle East, and that “satisfaction with material well-being has the biggest positive impact on overall happiness”.
