reward by the ETA, Samaras is head of a party that descends from the
Nazi collaborators put into power by Churchill and Stalin in 1944
(when Churchill was denouncing the menace of "naked triumphant
Trotskyism"), the party that managed the transition from the
colonels' fascist regime to Greece's present "democracy." For both
parties their Nazi-collaborating past is hushed up, but their crooked
and bankrupt present is glaringly evident.
