The Syriza MP’s voted for the measures, as expected, but the central committee rejected them earlier in the day by a narrow majority. It was unexpected and encouraging that nearly 40 Syriza MP’s defied the Tsipras leadership and also voted against. This is further indication that there’s deep dissatisfaction with the course Tsipras et al have pursued.
