Homo Economics in the Closet

I think that Wojtek asked about empirical evidence of employment discrimination based on sexual orientation. There's a book titled _Homo Economics: Capitalism, Community, and Lesbian and Gay Life_, ed. Amy Gluckman and Betsy Reed (NY: Routledge, 1997). Has anyone read it?

The main obstacle for rigorous and extensive empirical research about anything related to sexuality--not just about sexual orientation + employment discrimination--is that so much about it is in the closet. And the production of the very need for closeting--especially so for those who live in very socially conservative areas or work at places where homophobia is the norm--is the central mechanism for social control of people through sexuality.
