I think (?) the structure you are trying to imitate is:

A is B B is C A is therefore C

Here you have:

A is B A is C A is therefore D

Now, don't harp on me for saying the US isn't permeated with racism. My point is this argument, in itself, is not sound.

Get rid of A is B, make C equal to D, make A equal to C, and you have a sound argument for A equals D.

For example:

Carrol is an American

All Americans are affected by Racism

Carrol is affected by Racism
