"Lunchbag" is indeed frequently used by many, mainly the kids who were born and raised here and are desperate to get the hell out. I'm originally from Miami, FL, so I don't really have all the psychological hang-ups that self-hating natives do. In fact, other than the fact that it's governed by reactionaries and corporate whores, it's really a nice place.
I make trips up to Charlottesville periodically, and frankly I don't think it's very happening, either. Just about the only advantage it has over Lunchbag is greater access to recreational pharmaceuticals. That, and a DSA chapter, which is better than nothing.
