Partial quote from Michael Pugliese:
"Recently saw another McNamara book-this one his talks with the Vietnamese leadership a few years ago. Cover has a Viet leader giving him hell on their initial meeting. Wish we could get Henry K cornered and yell, Vietnam, Cambodia, Chile, East Timor. . ."
Yeah, the image of seeing Kissinger stray into a Vietnamese village accidentally. . . and suddenly (or slowly) realize he is about to incur the wrath of an entire population---reminds me of "Marathon Man", wherein screenwriter William Goldman's key idea for the screenplay was to set up the situation where "the White Angel" (a top Nazi officer) would be lured into the diamond district (heavily Jewish) of New York. It would be similar to the payback that runs through the second half of "Clockwork Orange." (such images....) -s.grube
