1) Diversified capitalism of the past was nearly as efficient at destroying people as is monopoly capitalism.
2) "Diversified" capitalism won't disappear: it lives on and continually regenerates itself in the interstices of monopoly capitalism. The tautology that "Capitalism is Capitalism" is perhaps the one marxist premise that cannot be denied without denying marxism as such.
