Indeed, indeed. Another ironic thing (at least so I imagine) is that neither Dolan or Wallach are cranky America Firsters. They're both probably "pwogessive" internationalists (and probably dine on a lot of fine Japanese sushi and Ethiopian cuisine), but since they're also opportunists an unholy alliance with the Jimmy Hoffa Juniors of the world is A.O.K. by them. Just as with a lot of middle-class "pwogwessives" they probably assuage their guilt about being out of touch with what they conceive to be the "working class" (i.e. hard hats), over-compensating by consorting with its more reactionary organized expressions (as if Jimmy Hoffa Junior ever hauled freight, or Sweeney ever emptied bedpans, for that matter).

Back in the realm of the "hangman's choice" again -- choose the (selective) "humanitarian imperialists" or those who wittingly and unwittingly cozy up to the John Birchers of the world. That's why some reconstructed version of Marxist analysis is absolutely necessary when it comes time to pick your poison (not that I need to convince you, of all people, of this).
