If Bradley is funding them, that's pretty much a guaranteed promise that they up to little good.

Subject: Re: [ASDnet] NEW DEM DAILY: A New Economy Labor Movement
I would not jump to too many quick conclusions here. NEIS is also linked to
the AFL-CIO and other international union web sites and to EPI, where Max
Sawicky works. It is an attempt at a broader-based effort than just the
remnants of SDUSA. There are a lot of the recognizable SDUSA names here, but
before one is too dismissive remember that people like Paul Starr, founding
editor of the _American Prospect_ and author of the classic _Social
Transformation of American Medicine_, falls into the category of SDUSA
intellectual. From what I can see, some of the issue addressed by their
"Organizing Unions in the New Economy" conference are questions we need to
address. The answers they provide are problematic, but there are not a lot of
folks even asking the questions.
Well, looking over the site, NEIS is a project of the Center for Democratic
Education, which has received about $800,000 from the rightwing Bradley and
Carthage foundations. The links at NEIS are all to National Endowment for
Democracy places, so the whole operation looks to be the AFL-CIA in exile,
setting up shop with financial support from rightwing foundations. Which
explains the reference to the Social Democrats USA.

Power concedes nothing without a demand.
It never has, and it never will.
If there is no struggle, there is no progress.
Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet deprecate agitation are men who
want crops without plowing the ground. They want rain without thunder and
lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its waters.
