Separately, the "not radicalised" are often quite a bit more radicalised than one might think, and in my experience of Italians, surprisingly few of them who are not actually Fascists are prepared to give the carabinieri the benefit of the doubt. Their unpopularity is significantly greater than that of the Guardia Civil or CRS, and only just less than the RUC.
