US. . I think that's an interesting answer: Don't judge a war by whether it's "just" in the abstract, but rather by its consequences for the population.

So what if the US war in Afghanistan turns out to be a disaster for the Afghan population? Replacing a stable, repressive regime with chaotic warlordism. Tens of thousands die. Would that make the USG worse than Al-Qaeda?
