more or less yeah. Royal Marine Commandoes, Arctic rather than jungle variety. They used to train a bit in Snowdonia in Wales when I was growing up and were fucking handy with their fists, as generations of local lads found out after having a go at them in pubs for being English. Wouldn't call them "special forces" in any kind of Marvel Comics sense, but they're well-trained and many have combat experience or its equivalent.
