Give him another try. He's not an idealist, that's a misreading, although W does emphasize certain cultural and psychological factors that he thought that Marxists of his day (mostly rather vulgar 2d I types) neglected. W knew fucking near everything, he was profoundly imaginativea nd insightful, very deep. Politically he's not in the league with Marx. Intellectually, he's one of the few of either century who was within hollering distance. jks
