I would have thought that the fact that it is now legal in Afghanistan to teach girls to read was sufficient basis to claim that the people of Afghanistan are now better off.
But I'm sure that, if you were minded to try to climb out of your pit of ignorance, you could find a lot more pieces of evidence that normal tribal warlordism is a better politico-social regime than militant islamic theocratic fascism...
