Stay off the weed Chuck. You are effectively arguing that political and economic freedom is impossible. Quite simply, a high degree of technological development is a pre-requisite to a high standard of living for all and this high standard of living for all is the material basis for true freedom.
We can't decide democratically who will starve and who will eat, who will live and who will die. The losers will never accept the decision.
