SAO PAULO -(Dow Jones)- Brazilian airline Viacao Aereo Riograndense SA (E.VAR) , or Varig, has suspended service to the Argentine cities of Mendoza and Rosario indefinitely owing to weak demand, a company official said Wednesday.
Varig's service to the cities of Buenos Aires and Cordoba will continue.
A spokesman for Varig - which is the country's largest aviation group - also said the company has decided to put back seven planes leased from General Electric Corp. unit GE Capital.
GE declined to comment when asked about the seven Boeing Corp. (BA) 737s.
