Kosambi was a mathematician who brought about a paradigm shift in Indian history writing with his book An Introduction to the Study of Indian History. His other books are Myth and Reality, Combined Methods in Indology and Other Writings. Romila Thapar and R.S. Sharma are other reputed Marxist historians of ancient India.
