I just signed on after having been away for about 2 years; glad to see some of the usual suspects are just as prolific as always. To sum up: I'm teaching at the University of Manitoba (Religion). I'm a few months away from finishing my PhD (which has already been written). I've almost forgotten about Lacan but still read Habermas. I'm satisfied working on issues of historiography and anthropology in the study of religion with an emphasis on purity and impurity, food behaviour, and death / mourning rituals, and comparative notions of evil (recently giving more attention to theorising genocide). Right now I'm combining my interests reading Beth Conklin's Consuming Grief: Compassionate Cannibalism in an Amazonian Society.

I don't know if this has been mentioned or not but... http://www.travelmateinfo.com/ I don't care what Freud would have thought about it. : )
