I read it, and I think he's confirming Chomsky's view
that the Iraq war is about the strategic advantage of
the oil, not about insuring supplies for domestic
consumption. Economic leverage can be applied against
N.K., he says, because its leaders fear internal
collapse. Saddam didn't fear such collapse because of
the oil. So unless the U.S. has control over Middle
East petroleum, it's vulnerable to challenge by
hostile nations.
Translation: it's about the oil.
